In October I set out to climb 5000m in the shortest distance possible, with no climb repeated. It turned into an even more gnarly and epic ride than I could ever have imagined…
This challenge was first created by Jered Gruber and Igor Tavella in the Italian Dolomites. They created YOLOmites, climbing 5000m in 126km. Suitably inspired, I wanted to see what was possible in the Pyrenees. I made a ferocious route, gave it similarly punny name, and headed out.
You can ride these incredible trails yourself - split over a couple of days to be reasonable - on our Peak Gravel tour. It's utterly spectacular.
